STUPID B*TCH...!!!

I don't think I'll be able to look any Americans in the eye if this bitch becomes VP...

NO FUCKIN' WAY!!!

"you don't have to sing!! Just move your mouth n'shit..."

As cold starts to sharpen...!! I'm really starting to feel the idea of watching video's on my laptop.

This one's good for a Sunday afternoon with the the hangover or if your stuck in bed with a cold...!!!

Apparently "video killed the radio star...!!"

This is a cutting insight into why and how the music industry has alienated itself from the art and transformed into the commerce.

Here's the trailer, so you can check it before you get fully involved.

featuring Erykah Badu, ?uestlove and Eric Clapton,

Let's hope the music doesn't die... In fact it's not. It's just rearing it's head in a different way innt...!!

Independence...!!!

Shout to Lefto for the heads up on this one...

reasonable wigflip....

Came out to chill with the Sophie'dem in Brussels for a week.

It was no car day on Sunday in Brussels (no cars on road... NiCE!!) So went out at met up with Lefto at the Royal Park where they put down fake grass and had a kinda farm day in the Royal Court!!!

.... and when we got back to the flat they were having a mini festival in the square outside Sophie'demz flat.

After this, they all gathered together had a meal.... and then they played a Silent Movie on giant screen while some dude free-styled on the piano to the film...... how bad boy is that?!

Forgot my phone in London, so my only contact outside the flat land is from within my laptop.

You don't need to to be a G to realize that I consider Madlib to be the King of Hip Hop.... and Stonesthrow to be the truest of the true.

So when I woke up to this yesterday I was erm...?!

Happy!!

Stonesthrow Podcast 38

J Rocc - The Funky President takes over the controls at WLIB AM for 30 minutes, and treats us to a load of delights from the Beat Konducta himself.

Make sure you check out the last in the Beat Kondukta series (which has encompassed albums from The Dilla, Pete Rock). It's out soon on BBE

From my King of Hip Hop, to.. i suppose?! my King of Rap....

I had quite a big disagreement with Jay - Z when he released that album after "The Black Album"

... well? it wasn't a personal disagreement!!! I don't know the dude.

But I hated on him...? and I still have a slight bit of angst angled towards the dude.

But...?! It seems like he might be coming out the other side...?! I thought the way he handled the attention at Glastonbury was dope..!!

"that bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar,
somebody shoulda told him i'm a fucking rock star..."

and well..?! He's making "The Blueprint 3"...

"The Blueprint" is up there as one of my favourite albums, and as much as I hate Kanye... I do like his beats (mostly..?! Well? One or two off every album!!!)

So they're teaming up again... Just like the old days and the hopefully take us back to when we were all making little "Roc" signs in appreciation of Roc-A-Fella records.

All I Need
Blueprint (Momma Loves Me)
wait for the bonus track
"Breathe Easy"

CLASSIC SHITZ!!

both taken fron "The BluePrint"

take an hour out and check this... The EPK for Jay-Z's first album "Reasonable Doubt"

Respect to the cats at 1x4yourmind for the postage.

Electric Boogaloo

so long 25.... it's been fun.

Kinda feels like New Years eve without feeling the need to empty my wallet into some dry celebration...!!!

I've been oiling my parts and attempting to sharpen (make less blunt..!!) my robotic dance skills...

and therefore found myself in....The Danger Zone, The Jacking Zone, The World Class Wrecking Crew, The Megatrons and fancying myself as an Egyptian Lover!!!!

Arabian Prince - Innovative Life

Out now from the mans 'dem at Stonesthrow. It comes with a 16 page booklet with a history of west coast hip-hop & electro and Arabian Prince history...

He was one of the founding members of N.W.A.... respect!!

Heads up to the cats at MissingToof...

Been holding out on this one for a while... and claiming the credit on the dance floor.

But seeing as tho' it's the end of something and the beggining of everything i thought i'd? Well? Y'Know...!!!

Be nice.

finding the original...

It's always fun. Especially when your a Hip Hop kid like me, thats where most of my reference came from... innit!!

Timbaland and Magoo - Indian Flute.... Rinsed the last embers of this tune back in the day. Need to dig it out!!

This sounds even better... to be honest it was only the sample that i liked.

Totó La Momposina - Cururá

popped up on JazzFunkGreats.

This one's just dropped....

I Like it Like That (Fania)

Been spinnin' a few off this one for a while now.. pretending they're rare little remixes!!

The secret's out!!! The Louie Vega (Master at Work) refix of wicked Hector Lavoe track "Mi Gente", and the Bugz in The Attic re-rub of "Plastico" is essential record box material.

You might even recognize the Nono Morales track that was on Gilles' myspace a little while back...?!

This cd gave me an unavoidable spasm to find the originals....

They are now hidden deep in the box... definite Ace's within the pack.

Ruben Blades - Plastico

Hector Lavoe - Mi Gente

might do one of those 'riginal vs rerub mixes at East Village on Saturday.

It was nice knowing you.... The End Club

It took ages trying to come up with some kinda whack cliche or some clever arse title for this post.

But well it ended up being quite self explanatory....

Respect goes out to Mr C and The End crew... so long!!

Quite hard to write an obituary on summink you weren't a big fan of in the first place.

The End was quite a non-entity for me. Haven't had a good time in there once, and for me it's a pale comparison to Fabric (but respect the fact that they were there first.)

I don't know what my problem is with The End. Maybe the penny hasn't dropped at the right time for me in there.... or maybe i have gruesome memories of waiting in the que* for 3 hours.

I think The End made me realize that I need to be in the guest list que*.

.... and there's always a few too many people who are a little too mash up!!

BUT....!! That said i haven't been there more than 10 times and it gave me my first opportunity to play at a super club.... which was fun!!

I've also gotta respect the fact that they had some wicked line ups and that they have definitely fueled the clubbing scene in London if not the world.

The choice in London is becoming quite limited....

If you haven't checked out The Ends recently renovated website then go check it.

www.theendclub.com

Loads of mixes on there from EVERYONE. No suprise in the fact that I've been listening to loads of the Laurent Garnier mixes recently.... but there's also interviews with amongst a load of others Roots Manuva.

and...!! Free mp3's on their The End Reccomends bit. Where Jose James was featured in the first volume.

So...? Are they gonna keep this shitz goin' now that they've got a very nice looking cheque from the developers in their sky rocket.

Coz that a good look...

.... like Robinho at Man City

.... unlike no new midfielders at Arsenal

* Brain freeze... help me out!!

secret weapons...

It's never really advisable to reveal your secret weapons, but I haven't revealed this one in any manner, shape or form... unless absolutely necessary!!!

So i suppose this qualifies as me revealing my hand now...?!

Am I making any sense...? Didn't think so.

Been checkin' Beat Electric quite bit recently. Spent a very happy couple of hours downloading their recommendations.

"Risque Rythum Team - The Jacking Zone"

It's quite self explanatory reeally...? Into doogie, disco and electric funk? Then put aside a couple of hours and sift through their archives.

Maybe i'll spin a few on Friday for this BBE party that I know nothing about... But apparently ?uestlove, Gilles Peterson (he told me about it...!!), Madlib and Kon & Amir will be spinnin' as well.

Will let you know more.... when i do?

Feelin' these

Maybe i'll adopt these as a secret weapon, and hold 'em out for those occasions when the footwear counts.

Think it's about time Arsene Wenger revealed his secret weapons?
